Noridian Outreach and Education provides seminars for Medicare suppliers and referral sources to work together in understanding the various changes, tools and best practices regarding Medicare requirements. DMEPOS suppliers must develop strong business practices in order to protect the beneficiaries you serve as well as your own business. Gain all the knowledge needed to be a successful supplier for your Medicare beneficiaries.
Please join representatives from Noridian Education and Outreach and Medical Review for "Medicare Step by Step". We are excited to offer a two track format this year which will allow attendees to customize their day by participating in the sessions most pertinent to their businesses. Attendees will be able to move freely from one track to the other to access all desired education.
In our policy, specific track, there will be sessions addressing the following DMEPOS topics: respiratory, orthotics & prosthetics, external infusion, enteral, mobility and all types of supplies. In addition, standard documentation requirements will be addressed. This format is intended to make suppliers aware of the most common errors identified by the CERT contractor, provide detailed explanation of coverage criteria related to those areas and assist in providing information that will prevent those errors from occurring in the future.
Our general track will offer sessions on the appeals process which will give suppliers a better understanding of the actions required for appeal once a claim has been initially denied. In addition, the medical review process will be outlined and explained. Guest appearances from a Competitive Bid Implementation Contractor (CBIC) liaison will be part of this track. Sessions in the general track will be repeated to allow more flexibility in customizing the day.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) has approved six (6) Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for each seminar. Noridian does not require CEUs from our supplier community; however, we offer them as an opportunity for suppliers/staff who need them as part of their Certified Professional Coder education.
