CR 13182 corrects the Common Working File (CWF) CCN conversion logic in the payment window edits to allow for Medicare systems to process payments to Inpatient Prospective Payment System IPPS-excluded units of (IPPS)-excluded hospitals. With the implementation of CR 11173, new CCN numbers were implemented to identify IPPS-Excluded units of IPPS-Excluded hospitals with the use of alpha characters in positions 3 and 4 of the CCN. This CR ensures that the CWF contractor converts both positions 3 and 4 to correctly identify the IPPS-Excluded Hospital parent CCN for correct application of the payment window edits.
