Part A Appeals: Noridian Reminds Providers to Use Specific Instructions with Appeal Submissions
Noridian is seeing an increase in the number of appeals that are being submitted with insufficient instruction from the provider. Instructions as to what the provider wants done on the claim(s) must be specifically stated in the appeal submission. Do not send an appeal with all claim lines checked (both denied and paid), asking Noridian to simply "reprocess for additional payment" or "review the claim." Noridian's reviewers will not make judgment calls on unspecific appeal requests. Doing so could forfeit the provider's future appeal rights on the claim.
