HPSA Physician Specialties - JE Part B

In accordance with 1833(m) of the Social Security Act, physicians who are enrolled in the Medicare program and provide covered professional services in a designated HPSA are entitled to the bonus payment.

HPSA bonus payments are limited to physicians only. The specialties found in the below listings have been defined as "physician" specialties. The rendering physician number, not the group billing number, determines the specialty.

Physicians who are M.Ds, D.Os, D.Cs, D.P.Ms, and O.Ds are eligible to receive the Geographic HPSA bonus. Psychiatrists, specialties 26 and 86, are eligible to receive the Mental Health Bonus
