Probationary Prior Authorization (PPA) Coming October 15, 2026

CMS made an announcement on September 1, 2026, that a nationwide probationary prior authorization (PPA) program will be implemented on October 15, 2026. This PPA program will require newly enrolled DMEPOS suppliers and suppliers that have completed a change of ownership to submit prior authorization for certain DMEPOS items. Please refer to the CMS website or Noridian's Probationary Prior Authorization website for further information.
