CMS has updated the Required Face-to-Face Encounter and Required Written Order Prior to Delivery (WOPD) List.

Effective October 28, 2026, Medicare selected additional HCPCS codes that require a F2F encounter and WOPD:

Air Fluidized Bed: E0194

Ankle-Foot Orthosis: L1906, L1933, L1952

Elbow/Wrist Hand Orthoses: L3761, L3916

Home Ventilators: E0466, E0467, E0468

Knee Orthosis: L1833

Manual Wheelchair: K0002, K0003, K0004, K0005, K0006, K0007, E1161

Oxygen Equipment: K0738

Power Mobility: K0831

Spinal Orthoses: L0456, L0457, L0486

For these items, the treating practitioner must conduct and document a face-to-face encounter within the six months preceding the order. The supplier must receive the completed written order before delivery and maintain the order and supporting documentation for review upon request.
