Remittance Advice Requirement

Effective 9/29/2021 in order for Customer Service Representatives to assist callers, you will need to have a copy of the remittance advice available when calling. This change is being implemented to ensure we provide efficient customer service. Remittance Advices (RA) are issued in either Standard Paper Remittance (SPR) or Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA). An RA provides finalized claim details and contains explanatory claim processing message codes. Three different sets of codes are used on an RA: reason codes, group codes and Medicare-specific remark codes and messages.
