Using the IVR with MBI - Updated
The implementation of the Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) number has begun! Below are a few helpful hints to use at this time when using the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) during the implementation.
- As of May 4, 2018, the HIC number or MBI can be used for claim inquiries when using the IVR
- Use either the HIC or MBI number for eligibility inquiries on the IVR.
If the IVR does not accept the number, please use the IVR conversion tool located on the IVR Guide on our website.
