Office of Inspector General (OIG) - JD DME
Office of Inspector General (OIG)
Since its 1976 establishment, the Office of Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) has been at the forefront of the nation's efforts to fight waste, fraud, and abuse in Medicare, Medicaid and more than 300 other HHS programs.
The OIG develops and distributes resources to assist the health care industry in its efforts to comply with the Nation's fraud and abuse laws and to educate the public about fraudulent schemes so they can protect themselves and report suspicious activities.
The OIG protects the integrity of the Department of HHS programs, as well as the health and welfare of the beneficiaries of those programs. The OIG has a responsibility to report both to the Secretary and to the Congress program and management problems and recommendations to correct them.
