Physician Education Resources - JD DME

Noridian has received supplier requests for improved educational efforts to physicians who order Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics and Supplies (DMEPOS). Noridian has compiled a list of resources that are either specific to physician education concerning ordering DMEPOS, or are supplier-focused, but can be used in educating physicians. Noridian encourages suppliers to utilize these resources as tools when working with your referral sources.

The Local Coverage Determinations and Policy Articles are the best resource to share with referral sources for the equipment and supplies that are being dispensed. In addition, Noridian encourages utilization of the "Dear Physician" letters to promote physician education, which can be found under the Policies section of the DME website.

DME on Demand educational products are now located on the Noridian DME website as well as the Noridian Part B Jurisdiction E and Jurisdiction F websites.

In addition, the DME Provider Outreach and Education team is willing to conduct individualized training with DMEPOS suppliers and providers to address both general and specific topics relevant to those relationships.
