Temporary License Updating

What is a temporary license? A temporary license is a license that allows a provider to practice medicine in a hospital or other facility until a full license is issued.  Some temporary licenses are issued just for teaching hospitals and are good for only a certain period of time.

Providers are allowed to enroll in Medicare with their temporary license. When a provider submits the application with a temporary license, the permanent license needs to be faxed into Provider Enrollment prior to the expiration date of the temporary license. If Noridian does not receive the full license, the provider will not be allowed to submit claims after the temporary license expires.
