Written Correspondence

The Written Correspondence Team handles two types of inquiries. The first type are general questions like Medicare regulations and coverage or how to submit a claim. The second type are more specific to a provider or beneficiary and contain Protected Health Information (PHI) or Personally Identifiable Information (PII).

Written Correspondence should only be used when the requester prefers a response in writing. For faster service, we highly recommend contacting the Provider Contact Center. The Written Correspondence department has up to 45 business days to respond per CMS regulations, though your inquiry may be answered sooner. They will reply in the manner the inquiry was received.

Do not send Written Correspondence if another area is set up to manage the item, such as Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP), Recoupment, Redetermination, or Reopening Requests. Use the Noridian Medicare Portal (NMP) for all Eligibility and Claim Status inquiries.
