Noridian Medicare Portal Provides Additional Self-Service Reopening Functionality

Effective February 21, 2020, the Noridian Medicare Portal (NMP) now allows users to do multiple clerical error reopening adjustments on a single claim with one transaction. NMP previously only allowed a single adjustment per transaction. For example, if a claim requires an updated date of service, procedure code, modifier, and billed amount, these requests can be completed in one transaction. Also, providers will be able to recoup or bill in error claims over a year from the process date.

Claims that are deemed "too complex" will give additional instructions to users if the claim does not meet the self-service reopening criteria.
