Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) Fees
Section 1861(s)(2)(HH)(jjj) of the Act requires that opioid use disorder treatment services would include FDA-approved opioid agonist and antagonist treatment medications, the dispensing and administration of such medications (if applicable), substance use disorder counseling, individual and group therapy, toxicology testing, and other items and services that the Secretary determines are appropriate.
Section 2005 of the Substance Use-Disorder Prevention that Promotes Opioid Recovery and Treatment for Patients and Communities (SUPPORT) Act requires that the payment rates for Opioid Treatment Programs (OTPs) be updated on an annual basis.
2022
CMS released the following opioid treatment program fees effective for dates of service January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022.
