Noridian is currently implementing updates to claims processing for certain Part A and Part B claims related to Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scans and is aware of questions and potential claims processing issues related to these updates. We are conducting a review of affected claims processing scenarios and, as part of this effort, evaluating whether any claims may be eligible for correction consistent with Medicare requirements and established claims processing procedures.

In the meantime, providers are reminded to review and follow the reporting requirements outlined in the CMS Internet Only Manual (IOM), Publication 100-04, Medicare Claims Processing Manual, Chapter 13, Section 60, and monitor future Noridian communications for additional information as it becomes available.
